THE PHOENIX LIGHTS THE PHOENIX LIGHTS MYSTERY
The controversy over the Phoenix Lights centers around the video taken on March 13, 1997 at 10 PM. The conjecture that these were flares ejected by A10 aircraft over the Barry Goldwater Test Range according to the Air National Guard is not supported by analysis. Comparison is shown here of the same lights seen to hold a pattern, but shot much closer and they can plainly be seen to be orb-like lights with a peculiar raster pattern similar to noise on a television screen, however this same raster pattern was seen with the naked eye. Note there is no nimbus or glow surrounding these lights as one would see in videos of flares. Video 1: Phoenix Lights March 13, 1997 Video 2: Rainbow Valley Orbs 2002
A frame taken from the Rainbow Valley Video
The Orbs shot by John Edmonds in the 2002 video look exactly like the orbs in the 1997 video. John was closer to the Orbs than Mike Kryzston was in 1997 and thus captured the actual round shape of the lights and more. A histogram shows there is a sharp spike in the luminosity showing that the air around the orb is not illuminated as would be the case if the lights were flares. The orbs show something that is faintly seen in the original frame which appears to be a solid core with a contained plasma field around it. I have seen these orbs looking through a Celestron telescope with 25X magnification and they appeared to me much as you see them in the video except for the zooming "out of focus" images due to using "automatic" focusing. It is as if the emission of light is contained in a bubble or shell around the object. You can download the image and zoom in on it and it even more apparent.
